"We
Will Rock You" - July 2007 The academy was one of the first
companies in the country outside the West End to get licence
to perform this smash hit musical. WE WILL ROCK YOU played
to a capacity audience and had standing ovations on every
performance.
"The
Rocky Panto" - December 2006 This was the academy's first attempt
at doing a Panto and was so successful every performance
was completely sold out with extra seats having to be
added. The Production was specially written for the academy
and the performance was the world premier.
"Talking
Heads II" - October 2006 This was the academy's second evening
in a series of monologue productions. We used local actors
as well as professional guests from London. The evening
went down a storm and was even more popular than the original
- there were many thought provoking moments throughout
the performance which left audience members, laughing,
crying or just in a reflective mood following the more
powerful pieces.
"Alice
the Musical" - July 2006 This was another modern musical,
based on the original "Alice in Wonderland".
It was written by Paul Boyd & directed by Richard
Esdale. Once again, the production was given the 'Blackfish
Touch'. With a Blues singing diva as the Queen of Hearts,
a Latin American, body-popping Caterpillar, the Political
T.Party and a Streetwise Alice - it proved to be a massive
hit with the audience again and we sold out every performance
and were having to turn people away at the door.Alice Gallery
"Mojo"
- June/July 2006 This was the academy's chance to
develop and work on our professional arm. "Mojo",
written by Jez Butterworth was a perfect choice. The gritty
and challenging acting was perfect for the academy. The
play was co-directed by academy tutor Michael along with
debutant Josie Merry. The play featured professional,
London based actors and began a mini-tour in The Roundhouse
Theatre before heading off the the Baron's Court Theatre
in the heart of West London's Fringe theatres. It was
so well received in London that we decided to extend our
run for another week.Mojo

"Talking
Heads" - February 2006 This particular production was developed
primarily by our senior academy workshop members. They
had decided that they would like to put on a showcase
to show their acting talents - what better way than to
put on an evening of monologues. The production featured
15 of our Senior workshop members and proved to be very
popular and was very well received by the audience...
so much so that we are now in the process of developing
"Talking Heads II".
"The
Musical, Hood" - December 2005 Written by Andy Brown & Steve
Williamson, this was a modern intepretation of the old
Robin Hood tale. It featured a cast of 60 people from
all over the community, young & old and was directed
by Richard, Mike & Barry. We decided to give this
oterwise traditional musical the 'Blackfish touch' which
included; Friar Tuck as a drunken Hell's Angel and the
cast using guns instead of swords. The production also
featured modern day riot police as the evil Sheriff of
Nottingham's men. The production proved to be a Box Office
hit and really set the academy up and gave us a basis
and a benchmark for future productions.Hood
