Biography
Mike originally trained as a professional musician with the Royal Marines Band Service and after leaving the service in 1986 he studied theatre direction at Nonnigton college under Ken Pickering. His acting experience extends back more than thirty years starting with ‘Fiddler on the roof’ (Ipswich Gaumont Theatre 1972) to the lead role in the same musical in 1999, other lead roles include The King of Siam ("King and I")and Mr Bumble in "Oliver" 2004, both directed by Richard Esdale. During the Summer of 2004 Mike appeared in ‘The Mystery plays’ at Canterbury cathedral for Kevin Wood productions, this production also featured Edward Woodward and Daniel Macpherson. Mike has also appeared in ‘Little Britain’ (BBC Television) and with Reeves and Mortimer for (Pett Baby Cow Ltd) Persil Advert (Thomas and Thomas) and Devinyl Digital (private company Health and Safety Video). Mike is also an accomplished producer, director and writer and has written various pantomimes which have been produced by various theatre companies in his local area. Mike is an accomplished Trumpet player entertainer/singer, conductor and musical director.
