Biography
Richard
recently played the Wizard & the Tin Man in Miracle Productions "Wizard
of Oz" at the Marlowe Theatre with Boyzone's Stephen
Gately playing the Scarecrow. Last year, Richard appeared again in the
Marlowe Theatre Canterbury playing the role of Rooster Hannigan in the
Kevin Wood Production of the musical "Annie",
directed by Eric Potts (Diggory Compton, Coronation Street), starring
Vicki Michelle (Allo Allo) as Miss Hannigan & Comedian Dave Lee as
daddy Warbucks. Richard trained in Ireland with acting tutor and director
Roma Tomelty. He has since worked for various television, film & theatre
companies throughout the UK & Ireland including an extensive season
in the Lyric Theatre with Kabosh Productions
and acclaimed award winning director Karl Wallace. Other theatre work
includes playing Dennis in the Joe Orton play "Loot"
for BTC Productions on a national tour. Richard
also played the role of Mad Hatter & caterpillar in "Alice,
The Musical" for the Gordon Craig Theatre
which was directed by Penny Hogan, Julian in "Fin de Siecle"
at the Melton Theatre with director Mark Cato,
Lumley in the Jack Loudan classical play "Henry Joy McCracken"
which was directed by Colin Carnegie for the Civic Arts Theatre
tour of Ireland for CentreStage Productions.
Other theatre credits include; Bongo in the RSC's "The Christmas
Clock", Zagreus in the physical theatre piece "Zagreus
II" in the Melton Theatre, Roddy
in "Uncle Silus' Will" and Clint in "Murder
at Puddletown" for the Eye Theatre,
he also played the physical theatre role of Nightmare in "Paper
Steps".
Television
& Film work is also varied and includes working on two series of the
hit Irish Sit-Com "Give My Head Peace" for
BBC Television, "Comedies of Eire-1798"
for BBC Television directed by Martin Shardlow,
"Who Killed Alexander" for Atlantic
Productions/Channel5 & Discovery Channel North America,
the lead role of Rick in the short film "Insomniac City",
the lead role of Stuart Hegarty in the short film "Gaze"
directed by Jennifer Davey for MovingPictures Company,
"Baby Doll" produced by Fillum (UK) Limited,
"A Love Divided", "Trail of Guilt"
both for BBC Television and "Titanic
Town" (Starring Julie Walters) for general release.
